August is the long exhale of summer. It's unhurried, generous, in no rush to end. This month we're looking forward to activities worth losing an afternoon for, fairs to find that one last piece you were looking for and a long bank holiday weekend for the jobs that never quite get done.

September wakes things up. After a long summer, we've plenty to share - new arrivals, a few dates worth marking, and the odd surprise we're not quite ready to name. It's a month for paying attention: keep an eye out, the diary's about to fill up.
